This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Working within our Property Assets Team within the Care & Repair team, the Technical Officer should be a time-served tradesperson or have a relevant HNC/SVQ 3 in a relevant technical area. You will contribute to the efficient and effective operational delivery of the Borders Care & Repair Service, in accordance with Eildon policies and procedures and statutory requirements.

The role involves identifying clients, visiting them in their own homes to assess their needs, explaining the range of repairs and improvement options available, and in any subsequent action, ensure that the client’s best interests are protected.

You will provide caring advice and support, including liaising with, and referral to, other appropriate statutory agencies, professional services, and voluntary organisation and co-ordinate the submission of Planning Applications, Building Warrant Applications, and other consent submissions as required, assisting with the submission of Improvement Grant Applications, and arranging financial packages for additional funding to allow work to proceed.

Please note that this role requires membership of the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme.
